Downloading an app does not create an ongoing free Reader plan. Readwise's subscription FAQ distinguishes the trial from continued paid use. If you need a free article-saving option, Instapaper has unlimited article saving and a five-notes-per-month limit on Free. For an RSS-focused workflow, compare the intake and features of Feedly or Inoreader rather than assuming their free and paid tiers are interchangeable.

Is Readwise Reader worth it in 2026?

Consider Full when reading, annotation, highlight review and exports are parts of your routine. Reader also provides AI summaries and research, so wanting AI does not by itself rule it out. During the no-card trial, try documents you actually read and an export destination you use.
